Rutledge & King is a family-owned home décor brand rooted in a love for thoughtful design, timeless style, and the feeling of home.

Founded by Alicia Toal in 2016, the brand began as a natural evolution of her creative journey. After years of running her own pottery painting studios, Alicia retired and turned her focus toward a new passion - designing and building her dream coastal home. It was during that process that something became clear: finding well-made, beautifully designed pieces that felt both elevated and accessible wasn’t always easy.

Rutledge & King was created to fill that gap.

Inspired by the quiet charm of Southern living and the timeless character of places like Charleston, South Carolina, our collections are designed to feel collected over time. Never rushed, never overdone. Each piece is thoughtfully curated by our small team in a quaint river town just outside Charlotte, North Carolina, where we draw inspiration from natural textures, lived-in spaces, and a slower pace of life.
